Allison Ward
Special Education Teacher
Welcome Allison Ward, one of the newest member of the New Liberty Innovation School family! Hailing from the chilly landscapes of Minnesota and with a childhood spent traversing the states—from North Dakota to the sunny coasts of Florida and the charming New England vibes of Connecticut—Allison brings a wealth of diverse experiences to our community. After cutting her teeth in the education field for 15 years with the Boston Public Schools, she has joined us at NLIS to continue her passion for shaping young minds.
A proud alumna of the University of Connecticut, Allison pursued her undergraduate degree before moving to Boston, where her journey in special education truly began. Fueled by her commitment to literacy and helping adolescents who face reading challenges, she furthered her expertise with a master’s in Special Education from Lesley University and another in Reading from Boston University/Wheelock College.
Beyond her professional life, Allison is a devoted mother who cherishes time spent with her daughter. Their family is completed by a merry band of fur babies—two dogs and two cats—that bring joy and a bit of welcome chaos into their lives. The inspirational force behind her career is her brother, who, despite having Down syndrome, has been a guiding light showing her the beauty of living a joyous and fulfilling life.
Allison is thrilled to be part of the New Liberty community.
